28/06/07 - Original spectator chair developed for FS2004 by Kevin Bryan, Unreal Aviation, for the CIX VFR Club
30/11/13 - Updated by David Buderim with default viewpoint raised to 100ft tower height and added tower radar facilities.

This spectator chair must not be used when connected to VATSIM because it contravenes VATSIM Rules.

This "aircraft" looks like a man sitting on a chair, and includes facilities normally available in a control tower. It is a fully flyable aircraft, although its intended function is to be placed (by slewing) in a position to view a virtual air display. It was designed specifically for spectators at Bill Casey's 2007 VATSIM Sywell Virtual Air Display. However, its use on VATSIM was not allowed so it was archived. It has been brought out of archive and updated for use during CIX VFR Club Multiplayer sessions.

In 2D cockpit view, you can pan around 360 degrees both horizontally and vertically without any obstruction by cockpit structure or panel. There is no 3D view, but external view and Control Tower view work as normal. Being an aircraft, it can indeed be flown, but lacking some essential aircraft facilities it is somewhat difficult to handle.

INSTALLATION
============
Unzip the downloaded file into a temporary folder and move the resultant "CIX Spectator with tower radar etc" folder into your FS9/Aircraft folder or FSX SimObjects/Airplanes folder.

You can adjust your eye level to suit yourself in the Views section of aircraft.cfg currently set as follows:

[Views]
//eyepoint= -3.0, 0.0, 1.0 //(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datum - GROUND LEVEL
eyepoint= -3.0, 0.0, 100.0 //(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datum - TOWER HEIGHT

TO USE
======
In FS, select it by opening the Aircraft menu and scrolling down the manufacturer list to "Unreal Aviation", and selecting "CIX VFR Club Spectator". Use the Y-key to set Slew mode and use the arrow keys to move it about. Press the Y-key again to leave slew mode and use it for watching the display.
